the maker of this gifset has disabled reblogs because people were being mean in the notes about the "treble clef being in the wrong place", so unfortunately I can't reblog the actual post. but I still want to point out that ✨technically✨ all of those people complaining are wrong

the G-clef doesn't "go on G". the G-clef indicates where G is. it's a subtle but relevant difference.

when the G-clef is on the second line, that's a "Treble clef" and it indicates that G is on the second line. and so the clef in the coffee art is simply indicating that G is on the third line !

and sure, that's not a Treble clef. but it is a Soprano clef ! we don't use the Soprano clef anymore but historically there were a whole variety of different clefs. G on the third line is the same as middle C on the first line and that was the Soprano clef. simple as that. here are some more examples :

Okay but genuinely. Why is Cats so severely hated on. I get the 2019 movie is largely what brought it back into the public conscience and thus strongly shaped the current generation's view of the show but there has to be more than that, people were hating on it even before the film came out. It almost feels like Cats (or god forbid LIKING Cats) is treated as somewhat of a musical theatre taboo. The One Show no one likes and you're not allowed to like because everyone will look at you funny, even folks who don't normally care much about musical theatre. Come on guys they're just kitty cats
